Hunza traditional women cap is also known as "iraghi" cap.it
is famous all over the world due to its uniqueness. It comprises of multicolor
along various patterns on it. Though it is quite difficult to made a cap due to
minor and complex work on it, as the skilled women of the region made the with
special skill. The time duration for a single cap to made is 10-12 days by
single person. The patterns vary according to demand and interest. one of the uniqueness
of this Hunza traditional women cap is that, it is mostly used by elder agers
than the younger ones and is perfectly suits them, however younger can also use
it as it seems to be attractive.one of the reason it takes too time to made it,
is stitching with needle on the minor patterns using multiple color threads.
If talk about Hunza men traditional men cap which also well-known
not only in Pakistan but all over the world. Farmers collect sheep hair and process
the in a specific manner to make a thread. Then the thread is use to make the
caps for men. It seems to be simple task, however it’s not as it also need
special skills likewise women cap. The color of this cap based on the color of
sheep, if sheep color is white than obviously cap will be white too. Another great
feature of this cap is a feather on it named as “Gamburi” feather of peacock
place on the cap which increase it beauty and seems to be perfect match.
